Background play works like a music player on your mobile device. You will be able to hear the sound from your nursery room while using other apps. Push notification will be sent if the camera is disconnected. Make sure your phone or mobile device is under the same Wi-Fi with your Lollipop Baby Camera (indoor mode).
If your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi as the camera but still appears as Outdoor mode, reboot your Wi-Fi AP and see if the issue is solved.
To run Background mode, click on the little phone icon in the live view.
You can also run a Network Diagnosis to check whether the camera is currently running in Outdoor mode (RTMP) or Indoor mode (RTSP). If your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi, it will be in Indoor mode (RTSP).
If the issue continues, check if you have the AP Isolation feature open in your Wi-Fi router setting, as the AP Isolation feature could also block the camera from running in Indoor mode.
